Women's Health & Hygiene

Women's health refers to the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of women throughout their lifespan. It encompasses a wide range of issues, including reproductive health, sexual health, maternal health, and general health concerns that are specific to women. Some important aspects of women's health include:

As a institution we reach out to schools in District Towns and help school children in the age group of 12 years and above under the hygiene aspects in respect to  Reproductive Health: This includes aspects related to the female reproductive system, such as menstruation, fertility, pregnancy, and menopause.

Mental Health: Women are susceptible to mental health issues like depression and anxiety, and it is crucial to address these concerns promptly.

Menstrual Hygiene:
Menstrual hygiene refers to the practices and habits adopted by women during their menstrual cycles to maintain cleanliness, comfort, and dignity. It is vital for women's health and well-being. Some key points regarding menstrual hygiene are:

Menstrual Products: Women can choose from various menstrual products like sanitary pads, tampons, menstrual cups, and reusable cloth pads. It's essential to select products that suit individual preferences and needs.

Changing Frequently: Menstrual products should be changed regularly to prevent infections and discomfort. The frequency of changing depends on the product type and the flow.

Washing Hands: It is crucial to wash hands with soap and water before and after changing menstrual products to maintain hygiene.

Disposal: Proper and environmentally-friendly disposal of menstrual products is essential. For example, some products can be harmful to the environment if not disposed of correctly.

Personal Hygiene: Maintaining overall personal hygiene during menstruation is crucial, including bathing regularly and wearing clean underwear.

Education and Awareness: Promoting awareness about menstrual hygiene and breaking taboos around menstruation is essential for ensuring that women can manage their periods with dignity.

Access to menstrual products like sanitary napkin vending machines and proper education on menstrual hygiene are critical factors in supporting women's health, particularly in low-resource settings where these resources might be limited.

Our organizations work towards improving awareness, accessibility, and affordability of menstrual products for women in rural India.
